A record of our ancient Brochs, Hill-forts and Sculptured Stones of Scotland
Brochs, Forts and Stones studies: Southern Brochs
Bow Castle Broch sits high above the Gala Water to the north of Galashiels. It has been severely delapidated by stone robbing.
Edin's Hall Broch
The well-defined remains of this broch overlook the Whiteadder Water to the north of Duns. There is an impressive enclosure encircling the site. Other Iron Age sites are close by.
Laws of Monifieth
The broch sits within a complex Iron Age fort with a commanding view of the Firth of Tay.
It only survives as a simple circle with poor quality stonework.
Torwoodlee overlooks the lower Gala Water and has extensive views especially across Galashiels to the Eildon Hills. The broch is surrounded by an enclosure of some considerable size.
